Changed my Bluesky handle to my home page j12t.org. That was quite painless (for a geek; I filled out their web form and added a TXT record).
They did that quite nicely. We should have something similar for the ActivityPub Fediverse -- yes, I understand that's a bit harder to do but not impossibl…

ALMA, as part of the Event Horizon Telescope, is unveiling a new image of our Milky Way's supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, in which strong magnetic fields can be seen…
The most exciting part is that this hints to a jet that would be hidden from our vantage point in our galaxy… but imagine that! We might be like M87, just at a smaller scale!

Event Horizon Telescope image of Sag A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

The background is mostly black, but a kind of hairy, slightly squashed donut shape in orange can be seen. The central blackness is the shadow of the Sag A*.

The hairy aspect comes from visualising the strength of the magnetic field.
Messier object 87 by Hubble space telescope.
This is the galactic core shown as a composite image of visible and infrared observations in order to resolve the blue jet.
The field of view is about 1.5 arc minutes across, the jet extends to about a third of an arc minute (or 20 arc seconds) with a width of about 2 arc seconds (absolute length 5 kly at a distance of 53 Mly).

A Tumblr post bypalms-upturned:

People in Gaza have been saying this would happen since the very start, as soon as the occupation started corralling everyone into the southern part of the strip they said this would happen. We watched it happen as the "safe" zones grew smaller and smaller and every time Rafah was targeted by air strikes even before this. And no one who could actually stop this lifted a finger. It's been 129 days.
